Are you struggling with finding peace in your body? Is your relationship with food obsessive and complicated? Has your food intake become scary or secretive?
I'm here to help. You can have a peaceful relationship with food—freeing you to focus on all the other important areas of your life.
I believe that connection is at the core of building a healing and therapeutic relationship. As a counselor I will bring a sense of curiosity, compassion and warmth to our sessions and work we do together. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process. Through a variety of therapeutic modalities, and listening to your individual needs, together we will create a peaceful environment for healing and growth to occur.
I hold my Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in Wilderness Therapy, from Naropa University. I work with individuals to ease daily stress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, disordered eating and negative body image and self talk. I have years of experience working with individuals and families in and out of wilderness settings.
I am a trained Eating Disorder Intuitive Therapist, and specialize in disordered eating and positive body image work. My goal is to help you create a healthy relationship with food and your body. Eating Disorder Intuitive Therapy
Practices focused on finding love and acceptance for your body. This is about trusting your intuition to guide dietary and exercise choices.
Together we will explore and begin to breakdown the stories and events that have shaped your life and relationship with your body and food.
Take advantage of Bend's outdoor playground to engage in nature based practices. I am trained in adventure based therapy through hiking, rock climbing, and rafting. Learn to celebrate what your body can do!
There are not always words to describe our emotions. Art can be used to open a session and guide our work together.
We will work towards increasing your stress tolerance so you will be better equipped to handle everyday stressors and triggers that may impact your eating and feelings about your body.
“Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy—the experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.”
